No matter how early you get up or how late you go to bed, there never seems to be enough time in the day. This week has flown by and tomorrow will be my last day of vacation. When I take a moment to reflect on the week, I ask myself, "did I accomplish all I set out to do this week?" Unfortunately, the answer is no. I wish I could have spent more time with my daughter just listening to her concerns and wishes. Instead, it seems like the days were rushed by and she and I really had very little time to talk. Hopefully, I can take the time to sit with her and listen over the next few days. We are going to play a game of Monopoly in a little bit. She is so excited. Before she went to bed last night, she told me to wake her up the very moment I woke up so we could play. I woke up and went in her room to tell her I was up, but she looked up at me with one eye as if to say, "Can we wait a little while longer?" I told her I wasn't ready to play yet anyway! I have all the normal chores of a mother: laundry, picking up the house, etc. So my advice to you today is to spend some time with your children or a family member today and try to listen to them. Find out their dreams, wishes, cares, fears, etc... Remember, don't let the conversation turn in to what is going on with you, instead, listen to their every word. Have a blessed day!
